Desert Masterclass
Located in Rancho Mirage, California, this early-1970s icon by Howard Lapham spans 11,000 square feet of glass-and-stucco drama. A hand-carved Mayan calendar defines the entry, Mesoamerican motifs animate the façade, and a keystone-shaped pool is anchored by a monumental stone figure.
Michael S. Smith led a full renovation, with TDG illuminating the reimagined interiors and exteriors using No. 8 Lighting’s 800 Series LED recessed downlights—delivering precision and architectural clarity throughout.
