Are the 801, 802 & 803 IC Single Lamp fixtures 1 hr fire rated?

The models are not intrinsically fire rated. But there are two ways of achieving this rating.

1) A separate UL listed 1 hr fire rated metal enclosure can be purchased for this purpose. Sources:

2) For Models 802 & 803 the contractor can build a 5 sided box of 1 hr fire rated (5/8” min.) sheet rock to completely surround the fixture in the ceiling. Sheet rock must be spaced minimum of 1/2” on all sides. This method is more costly & most often is not UL recognized for a 1 hr fire rating.
