FAQ Answer:

UL does not have a specific rating for sauna applications. All UL testing is conducted in a controlled environment with an ambient temperature of 25°C (77°F). Many saunas can reach temperatures in excess of 150°F which may cause nuisance tripping of our internal thermal protection, which is designed to cut power if the fixture exceeds 90°C (194°F). For this reason, we do not recommend installing No. 8 fixtures in sauna applications.
